About Me: Your CBT Therapist

My name is Calumny Winder and I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in Edinburgh. I have experienced the profound impact that therapy can have on a person's wellbeing, motivation and quality of life, both personally and through those close to me. It is now my goal to guide others through this process.

I have over six years of academic and practical experience in the field of psychology, having done an undergraduate degree and Master's degree at the University of Hull before obtaining my Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Group Work with the Centre of Therapy and Counselling Studies.

I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based support to help my clients navigate their challenges. Offering my therapy online allows me to reach clients throughout the UK, which aligns with my mission to help as many people as I can.

My Offer: CBT Online

Before scheduling paid sessions, I offer a complimentary 30 minute phone consultation. After that I offer weekly sessions of 50 minutes at a price of £50 per session. All sessions will be conducted online.

LGBT+ Friendly Support

As a queer person myself I am aware of how a queer identity can impact and shape a person's mental health. I offer a service that helps people navigate and come to terms with those challenges.

Neurodivergent Friendly CBT

I understand that traditional therapy often caters to a neurotypical audience. My practice is different. I’m committed to making therapy comfortable for neurodivergent individuals by offering personalized adaptations that suit your unique needs.

Why CBT: Effective Support for Anxiety

All therapy is fundamentally about change, about recognising there is something in your life which you are not happy about and deciding what to do about it. CBT seeks to first identify and then help you enact this change through a combination of cognitive and behavioral techniques, asking you to consider how you think and how you act and whether it is serving you. Client Reviews

I feel as though I’ve gained a toolbox of techniques that have allowed me to confront a lot of my negative beliefs/thoughts about myself & have allowed me to to begin to adjust my behaviour accordingly & raise my self esteem.

It’s been so out my comfort zone to talk to someone about my feelings, I would never have done that before, and its helped so much. Feel like I am just starting a wee path of discovering things about myself that I need to feel/heal.
— Client
In many sessions, I’ve had insights about where certain behaviours/patterns come from and this has helped me feel validated about why I do these things. This has also helped me to identify when I have a thought distortion and how to respond more positively. Calumny was very validating about certain life issues I had and helped me see different perspectives.
